Meet Times, Practice Times
2020-21 Girls Swim & Dive Season
The MSHSL has announced that the Girls Swim & Dive season will start August 17! We unfortunately cannot simply say "See you at practice!" We will be working on a plan for practice and the greater season based on guidance from the MSHSL Swim & Dive Advisory Committee as well as the Activities Director and ISD 197. Swimming practice will likely be in the afternoon or evening, including in August; we are working on diving practice scheduling as well.
Please note that the District has not yet opened registration. We are told an email will be sent to families when registration opens.
We do know that the season will have certain restrictions and modifications including:
- The season will be 20% shorter with 30% fewer meets
- Only dual meets are approved. Invitational meets and True Team are not approved.
- There is no decision as to whether "culminating events" will occur (e.g. Sections, State)
We will continue to work on the plan for starting and conducting practice. We will also schedule a virtual team meeting to connect before practice begins.
To new members: please contact us if you are interested in joining the team!
Swim Like a Warrior
Welcome to Henry Sibley High School Girls Swim & Dive! We compete in the Metro East Conference as part of the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL). The season runs from the middle of August to late October/middle of November. District athletes in grades 7-12 can join the team. Additionally, local home school and private school students can also join the team (contact us for details).
We are so excited about the new aquatic center that is currently being built on the campus of Henry Sibley High School! It will be an eight-lane pool with a movable bulkhead. The bulkhead will accommodate a warm-up/cool-down area during meets. It will also allow the divers to practice at the same time as the swimmers. The pool will have two 1-meter springboards and one 3-meter springboard. It is scheduled to open sometime during the Fall of 2020.
